Catechism

Old Testament & New Testament Catechesis

The first two years of youth catechism instruction is Old Testament Catechesis and New Testament Catechesis. These two years are designed to create a broad foundation of the biblical narrative, as well as focusing on learning the primary texts of the Small Catechism and their explanations.

Lutheran Catechesis

The final year of youth catechism instruction is Lutheran Catechesis, which also serves as our guide to adult catechesis. In this class, catechumens explore the text of the Small Catechism in greater detail. Each lesson is divided into three parts: the Word of Faith; the Catechism in Detail; and A Look at the Divine Liturgy.

Below you will find follow-up videos for each class, as well as supplemental materials to further guide your study and conversation regarding the chief parts of Luther's Small Catechism.
